Glass high school gym class designed for "lifetime fitness" | The News & Advance:

Or the way the students take up “mountain” and “crocodile” poses at the teacher’s command.
For whatever reason, it’s clear this isn’t a traditional gym class.
Physical education teachers Cotrena Liggon and Janice Megginson started the lifetime fitness course at E.C. Glass High School last school year as an alternative to the school’s weight-lifting or sports-based physical education classes. Each student must have two physical education credits to graduate.
“We had a lot of students who were not participating in sports,” Liggon said, “They were shy or they didn't feel like they were competitive enough.”
Instead, lifetime fitness focuses on other exercise and health practices. Students rotate through activities including yoga, step aerobics, circuit and strength training, walking and jogging.
